Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction
Dr. Lynn Brown
I was born and raised in Pekin, where I developed a deep passion for education. I pursued my Bachelor of Science in Education with a math endorsement from Eastern Illinois University. My journey in education continued as I earned a Master of Science in Educational Administration from National University and later, a Doctor of Education from Illinois State University.
This school year marks my 24th year in the field of education. I spent the first eight years of my career teaching middle school math in both Illinois and California, where I had the opportunity to work with diverse groups of students and hone my teaching skills. Following my time in the classroom, I transitioned into administration and have accumulated 16 years of experience in various administrative roles in both Illinois and California.
Currently, I am in my second year as the Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction for Pekin Public Schools District 108. In this role, I focus on developing and implementing effective curriculum strategies to enhance the educational experiences of our students. My passion for education drives me to continually seek out innovative approaches and best practices to support both teachers and students.
I live in Pekin with my husband, Walter, and our three children. Our community is very important to us, and we are proud to be a part of it. Balancing my professional responsibilities with family life is both challenging and rewarding. I am grateful for the support of my colleagues and loved ones in all my endeavors.
