Coordinator of Assessment and Technology
AJ Schroff
Hello! I have just completed my first year as District 108’s Coordinator of Assessment & Technology. In this role, my chief responsibility is to support schools in gathering, analyzing, and acting upon the wealth of student data available to them. Data sources include local and state academic assessments, attendance information, behavior referrals, social-emotional data, and survey results. I manage District data and technology platforms to capture and present data as efficiently as possible.
Additionally, I work closely with the Coordinators of Curriculum and Instruction and Student Services to continuously improve our Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS). Providing the best possible teaching and learning experience for students drives everything that we do! Our District has just begun the implementation of a five-year strategic plan, and measuring progress toward the goals of that plan is also a priority.
I grew up in Peoria and earned Bachelor’s Degrees from both Bradley University and Illinois State University. I received my Master’s Degree from Illinois State. Go Redbirds! Prior to taking on this role, I taught middle and junior high Language Arts before becoming an administrator. I have worked in District 108 for the past 22 years, and I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of supporting students and schools to reach their full potential.
Personally, I am married to a fellow teacher and have three sons–two in college and one in high school. Spending time with my family is one of my greatest joys! I also enjoy reading, watching and playing sports, and drinking strong coffee!
