My name is Matt Green, and I am starting my 21st year in Pekin District 108. I spent seven years at Edison Junior High as a teacher and assistant principal, ten years at Wilson Intermediate (four as assistant principal and six as principal), and this is my fourth year as principal at L.E. Starke Primary School. I am honored to be part of this student-centered district, and can think of no more noble profession to be a part of! Helping to educate your children – academically and behaviorally – is a tremendous privilege and responsibility. My wife and I have six children – ages 2 through 14 - and I know firsthand how important education is in their lives!
At Starke, we take great pride in your child's education. We look forward to working with all parents in providing a successful education for each child. Our staff will also be concentrating on school-wide math and reading goals by aligning our units of study with other district schools and the New Illinois Learning Standards.
I will do my best to keep you updated through newsletters and One Call Now phone messages, and here are a few important dates:
Meet the Teacher (4:00-6:00)
First day of school (8:40-3:20)
Breakfast for Kindergarten parents and parents new to the district. (9:00 in the cafeteria))
PTA (6:30 in our learning center)
Check back to this website frequently for more updates. Please do not hesitate to contact me by phone, email, or in-person with any questions. I am very much looking forward to working with your children, and please let me know what I can do to help our students have a successful 2015-16 school year!
Sincerely - Matt Green, Principal
